Designed in close collaboration with visionary design duo Chen Chen & Kai Williams, the Sidewinder Knife slithered onto the scene with its sculptural presence and hypnotic interlocking motion. Soon after, the ornate Sidewinder Deluxe joined the party, and now we’re pleased to welcome the Sidewinder Mini to our family of serpentine blades.
AN ENIGMATIC MOTION
The Sidewinder Knife family is always on the move. Unsheathed by a unique, dynamic mechanism, the Sidewinder’s blade emerges in sympathy with the motion of its interlocking hilt.
“Maybe this will be the first time somebody stops and inspects how a knife opens in a way that is really uncommon.”

MEET THE FAMILY
Each member of the Sidewinder family retains the enigmatic motion of the original Sidewinder — while adding their own flair and functionality.
The Sidewinder Deluxe mimics the form of the original while taking it to its maximalist extreme, with a polished stainless steel hilt and inlays of eye-catching abalone. The Sidewinder Mini goes in the other direction with its truncated body, shortened straight-blade, and keyring loop for expanded portability.
SIDEWINDER KNIFE MINI ON KICKSTARTER
Following the success of the original Sidewinder, we chose to launch the Sidewinder Mini on Kickstarter. We quickly exceeded our goal, which allowed us to move right into production. So far, we’ve shipped more than 3,800 units of the mighty Mini to early backers. Now, it’s available to the general public for the first time.

WHY’D WE MAKE IT?
Having cut our teeth with the Rook and Lark knives, we knew we wanted our next Daily Carry knife to be something of a curveball. Enter: Chen Chen & Kai Williams
“We’ve always looked at Craighill with awe, not fully understanding how they manufacture at this level of precision.”
With some earlier collaborations under our collective belt, we knew that Chen and Kai’s adventurous design instincts would produce something mind-bending, and we were happily proven correct.
The initial prototype — heavily inspired by the linkages of a parallel ruler — was ambitious even by their standards. It took a lot of tweaking before we arrived at the final Sidewinder, but thanks to a relationship built on mutual trust, we wound up with our most exciting knife design yet.
